I learned to cook through intense curiosity and what one would most certainly define as 'trial and error', and I wouldn't have it any other way. My strong Italian roots taught me a few things when it came to food:

I learned to cook through intense curiosity and what one would most certainly define as 'trial and error', and I wouldn't have it any other way. My strong Italian roots taught me a few things when it came to food:
1. Food is love. I love you? Eat.
2. Indulging your soul and heart, (as one does with food) > Vanity
3. Cooking comes from the heart. You need to pour emotion into your food. It is by far my favorite means of expression.
Whether it was Sunday dinner with my Grandparents, the whole family gathering for Grandma Loida's sauce and meatballs, dinner parties with friends or simply sharing a snack; Food brings people together. Sharing and carrying on any tradition, food related or not is how we stay connected to the our memories of the past, and to each other.
